Different doorways into the same deeper work
Some people need to talk. Some need to slow down and listen to the body. Some need rest, stillness or spiritual support. The work can be shaped around what feels right for you.
Mind
Counselling, stress management and mindfulness
Counselling offers a confidential space to explore what is happening, understand your patterns and find a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be facing a current difficulty, looking more deeply into yourself, needing support through a crisis, or seeking a sense of meaning and self-awareness.
For ongoing issues, regular weekly counselling sessions are usually more helpful than a single appointment. Shorter stress-management sessions may also be useful when you need to talk through a situation, reduce anxiety and learn simple relaxation techniques.
I work as an integrative counsellor, drawing on person-centred, humanistic, mindfulness-based and body-centred approaches according to what seems appropriate for you.
My training includes The Hakomi Method, a mindfulness-based body-centred psychotherapy involving assisted self-discovery, and Body Listening, which helps people contact emotions that need to be felt and expressed in a safe, holding environment.
I am registered with the UKCP and adhere to the UKCP code of conduct. Everything said in counselling is treated confidentially. I have regular supervision and ongoing professional development.

Body
Body-centred therapy and Dance of Awareness
The body can hold feelings, memories and patterns that are not always easy to reach through words alone.
Dance of Awareness™, or DoA, is an approach to working with movement, dance and awareness. There are no steps to learn. It is about allowing yourself to follow the movements that are waiting to happen.
The DoA cycle — sensing, grounding, expressing, releasing, connecting and completing — follows an energetic wave and offers a way to explore old patterns and new possibilities through movement.
The dances are suitable for people interested in self-awareness and self-development. Participants may feel a greater sense of aliveness and vitality while releasing tensions and blocks to freedom of expression.
I run dances every few weeks in Ferryside. Please contact me if you are interested and I can put you on the mailing list and send more information.

Spirit
Healing, meditation and relaxation
Healing
Healing is offered as gentle energetic support and is usually performed a short distance away from the body. It aims to bring a sense of peace and wellbeing, and to support the body's own capacity for rest and recuperation.
I am a full Healer Member of The Healing Trust and offer individual healing sessions, often in combination with relaxation.
Meditation
Meditation can help calm and focus the mind. Breath awareness, mindfulness and loving-kindness practice can support a more spacious relationship with thoughts, feelings and habitual reactions.
I offer individual meditation instruction and also run a monthly group in Ferryside. Contact me for details.
Relaxation
Relaxation can support both body and mind, especially when daily life feels like a treadmill. Guided relaxation, breath work, visualisation and gentle exercises can help reduce tension and encourage a deeper sense of rest.
